Applications
Monoethanolamine (MEA) is used in detergent, personal care, textile finishing, and wood treating products, as well as oil well and metalworking products for corrosion prevention. Also can be used as a cement grinding aid. Building block in the manufacture of triazine based corrosion inhibitors. It is also used as a scavenger for CO2 and H2S gas, hide softeners, hair-waving agents, agricultural chemicals, and antibiotics.
